The character-driven toon chronicles the nautical and sometimes nonsensical adventures of SpongeBob, an incurably optimistic and earnest sea sponge, and his undersea friends. Dwelling a few fathoms beneath the tropical isle of Bikini Atoll in the sub-surface city of Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob lives in a two-story pineapple. Instead of taking the logical approach to everyday challenges, SpongeBob approaches life in a wayward and unconventional way. Whether searching for the ultimate spatula to perfect his burger flipping technique at the Krusty Krab, or just hanging out with his best friend Patrick (an amiable starfish), SpongeBob's good intentions and overzealous approach to life usually create chaos in his underwater world.

sorry but just a heads up i have only learned anything by SBSPs and anyone things they can name / list any show by seeing like 10 seconds .... god luck. I have ruined a few roommate friendships with knowning every SPSP episode

ummm...lol..but year if I had to pick one childrens cartoon that is good for adults it would be Spongebob. Besides family guy and simpsons and all that of course

You would be surprised to know that first these concept sketch portrayed the character at first as wearing a red hat with a green base and a white business shirt with a tie. But then SpongeBob's look gradually progressed to brown pants that was used in the final design. At first SpongeBob was designed to be a kid-like character who was goofy and optimistic in a style similar to that made famous by Jerry Lewis.
